All about the Songbird EP!

Well, today we put out the 3-song Songbird EP that was put together almost completely out of the goodness of peoples' hearts and for the love of music. I love that.

I met Aaron, my good friend & sound engineer through the interwebs. He needed someone to record for his final school project for his Audio Production Certificate at Boston University and I desperately needed a more professional sounding example of my work. So, we paired up to put this out for you. He'd come pick me up from work, we'd drive to the studio, and we'd work from then until midnight or one am when he'd drive me home. Often-times he'd have to be getting up at 4 am or something to go to work the next day. While he covered all the guitar, piano, organ and bass parts, I did the ukulele, mandolin, fiddle and vocals. We realized we needed a drummer, though, and fast.

After talking excitedly about the project at work, it came to my attention that there was an extremely talented drummer I could ask right in front of me. My extremely cool boss, James, who was a drummer for years, was volunteered and a week later we were in the studio putting down some truly exciting takes. After James so nicely gave up his time and talent to record with me, his wife, Leah, was kind enough to use her talents as a photographer to take all my promo photos, including the photo used as the cover art for the EP.

It's these kinds of people, who are so generous to other musicians like me trying to get started in the music business, who make the difference. I am limited in what I can do alone and without the help and generosity of my friends, I wouldn't be here.

So, a big thank you to Aaron, James & Leah for EVERYTHING you contributed to this project. But also, a huge thank you to all of you- you are making all of this possible with your support, encouragement and your enthusiasm. I can never thank you enough!

Love,
Eva
